• Christmas Message from the Evangelical Fellowship of India

    , ,

Christmas reminds us that God chose to enter the world as it truly is, not as we wish it to be. Jesus was born into a time of uncertainty and fear, among ordinary people, under conditions far from ideal. In the Incarnation, God drew near, not in power, but in humility, vulnerability, and love.

As we celebrate Christmas in India today, we do so in a complex and demanding season. Yet the message of Christmas assures us that God is present with His people, faithful in every generation, and at work even when circumstances are difficult. In Jesus Christ, God has made His dwelling among us, sharing our joys and our sorrows, and offering hope that does not fade. This hope does not rest on circumstances, but on the faithfulness of God who has acted in history and remains sovereign today.

Christmas also calls us to live differently. The child born in Bethlehem grew to proclaim a kingdom marked by truth, compassion, justice, and self-giving love. That calling continues today, as believers seek to follow Christ with faithfulness, prayer, service, and courage in everyday life.

We give thanks for churches and believers across India who continue to worship, serve their communities, and bear witness to Christ in quiet and faithful ways. In this season, we also pray for the safety and protection of believers and their families, that Christmas may be celebrated peacefully, without fear or harm. We pray that the peace of Christ will guard our hearts, strengthen our homes and churches, and renew our hope in God’s promises.

May the light of Christ shine in the darkness, and may the coming year draw us deeper into faith, unity, and obedience to God’s calling.

    With prayer and Christmas greetings,

    Rev. Vijayesh Lal
