URGENT: NORTH INDIA FLOOD RELIEF APPEAL
Appeal, Flood Relief, North India, Relief
THE SITUATION
North India is reeling under the worst floods in nearly four decades. Over 570 people have died, and millions are affected across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
What we’re seeing:
- 1,400+ villages submerged in Punjab alone
- 2.5 million people directly affected
- 150,000 hectares of crops destroyed
- Thousands of families left homeless
Reports from our network leaders describe families still stranded on rooftops, children without proper meals for days, and entire villages still under water.
WHY EFI IS RESPONDING
This isn’t our first crisis response. We coordinated relief during COVID-19, were among the first to assist during the Manipur violence, and have responded to floods in Bihar and Odisha in the past.
What makes EFI different is that our volunteers live in these very communities. When disaster strikes, they are already on the ground, ready to respond. Our member churches and volunteers across North India are positioned to serve these overlooked families. But we need resources – immediately.
Our volunteers work without salaries, often using their own resources. That’s how we keep costs low and our response fast.
WHAT WE’RE PLANNING
Our teams are preparing to deploy relief operations next week, focusing on immediate needs: emergency food supplies, clean water and purification tablets, clothing, blankets, and basic medical supplies.
We focus on what we do best – getting essential supplies to families through people who know their local situation.
HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS
- Rs. 4,500: Emergency food for 1 family (about one month)
- Rs. 7,500: Complete relief kit (food + clothing + medical supplies)
- Rs. 15,000: Helps 2 families with complete relief kits
- Rs. 37,500: Reaches 5 families with complete relief
- Rs. 75,000: Supports 10 families with complete relief kits
Our first-round target is to serve 2,000 families.
Every family will receive at least food support, and as resources allow, as many as possible will receive full relief kits. This means we need to raise between ₹1 Crore (for food kits) and ₹1.5 Crores (for full relief kits) in this immediate phase.
WHY GIVE THROUGH EFI?
Our volunteers and member churches are already present in the affected regions. Every contribution goes directly to relief supplies and distribution. There is no administrative overhead.
We are transparent about what we can and cannot do. We do not promise to rebuild houses, but we can get food and basic supplies to families quickly – and that is what is needed now.

TIME IS CRITICAL
The monsoon isn’t over. More rain is predicted. What families need today will mean the difference between survival and deeper hardship.
Our immediate goal is to serve 2,000 families in this first round of relief. With your help, each family will receive at least food support, and as many as possible will receive complete relief kits.
Right now, people need help.
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” – Proverbs 19:17
