EFI congratulates Advocate Botrus Mansour on his appointment as Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance

The Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) warmly congratulates Advocate Botrus Mansour on his appointment as the new Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA).

On behalf of the Indian evangelical community, I join the global family in celebrating this historic moment. Advocate Mansour’s appointment is not only the culmination of a prayerful and diligent search process but also a testimony to God’s sovereign hand in raising leaders for His Church in every generation.

We rejoice that he brings to the role a rare combination of grassroots witness, legal and advocacy expertise, regional leadership experience, and deep commitment to reconciliation and unity. His leadership as the first Arab Christian to serve in this position is a significant milestone in the WEA’s history and a powerful reminder of the global breadth and diversity of the Body of Christ.

We assure Advocate Mansour of our prayers, partnership, and solidarity as he takes up this responsibility to serve the worldwide evangelical movement in the season ahead. We also honour the faithful service of Dr. Goodwill Shana during the transitional period, and the diligent work of the International Council and Search Committee in guiding this process with transparency and prayer.

The Evangelical Fellowship of India looks forward to working closely with Advocate Mansour and the WEA in advancing our shared vision: “The Gospel for Everyone by 2033.” May the Lord grant him wisdom, courage, and grace as he leads the global Church in proclaiming Christ’s Gospel of peace, justice, and hope.
