Easter 2025 Greetings from EFI
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.”– Matthew 28:6
Dear sisters and brothers,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On this Easter morning, we once again proclaim the words that changed history: “He is risen!” This joyful declaration comes not from sentiment or tradition, but from the unshakable truth of the Gospel – a truth the world today desperately needs.
Across our nation and around the world, people are longing for stability, meaning, and peace. Many carry quiet burdens – grief, uncertainty, economic hardship, injustice, and fear about the future. The need for hope is not theoretical. It is urgent and real.
As followers of Christ, our hope is not rooted in emotion or idealism. It is grounded in an event: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, truly died, and was buried. But on the third day, He rose again – bodily, gloriously, and victoriously. The tomb was empty. Death was conquered. The grave could not hold the Author of life.
As the Apostle Peter writes, “In his great mercy, [God] has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3). Because Jesus truly died, our sins can be forgiven. Because He truly rose, our future is secure. And because He lives now, our lives can be renewed – here and today.
The resurrection is not only a past event; it is a present power and a future promise. It reminds us that the Christian life is not lived in the shadow of fear but in the light of victory. This is the Gospel we proclaim – the good news of a living Savior and a living hope.
In light of this, the Church in India is called to live not with fear, but with faith. We are to be people of hope – bearing it, sharing it, and embodying it in every sphere of life. In our communities and workplaces, in villages and cities, in word and deed – let us bear witness to the risen Christ. In the face of injustice, let us act with mercy and courage. In the face of sorrow, let us comfort and serve. In the face of death, let us proclaim life.
On behalf of the Evangelical Fellowship of India, I extend warm Easter greetings to all – to churches and Christian communities across our land and beyond, and to all fellow citizens, friends, and neighbours. May this season renew your joy, deepen your confidence in God, and strengthen your witness to the One who holds history in His hands.
Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Hallelujah!
In His living hope,
