Church Meeting Disrupted in Uttar Pradesh
A mob of about 50 Hindu extremists allegedly from the Bajrang Dal disrupted Christian’s meeting on 23 July in Barra, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Our correspondent, Amitabha Sarkar, staff of Advocacy Desk of Evangelical Fellowship of India reported that Pastor Samuel Sarkar of Indian Pentecostal Church organized a two days Christian meeting when the extremists shouting slogan “Jai Shree Ram” barged into the meeting on the first day.
The extremists verbally abused the Christians for their faith, questioned them and ordered them to close down the meeting, reported pastor Samuel Sarkar.
Police reached the spot and took the two parties to the station. The Christians were asked to close down their meeting. Subsequently the meeting was discontinued.
